What are speks made from?
Speks are made from the rare earth element, neodymium. First they’re shaped into 2.5mm spheres, then they’re coated with a metal plating or polymer paint, and finally they go through the magnetizer. It’s cool - one minute they’re just ball bearings and the next they’re magnets. Magic.
What do I do with Speks?
You tell us, the possibilities are endless. Smash them like putty for stress relief. Build a hex sphere for a break from the screen. Make something cool? Find a new magnet trick? Tag @getspeks and #speksmade on instagram, we’d love to see.
Are Speks a rip off of Buckyballs?
No, we’re actually the evolution of Buckyballs. The creators of Zen Magnets and Buckyballs came together to create Speks.
Who are Speks for?
Speks are for anyone 14 or older. That means nerds, early adopters, head honchos, #girlbosses, nail-biters, cuticle-pickers, all-day fidgeters, aspiring architects, design snobs, and everyone in between. You’ll like us, we just know it.
Do Speks meet all safety standards and regulations?
Yes! All of our products meet ASTM, EN 71, and CPSIA regulations and standards.
Should I buy Speks for kids or let them play with mine?
Speks should not be given to anyone under the age of 14.
When will my order ship?
If you order by 1 PM EST Monday through Friday, we’ll ship your package out on the same day. If you order after 1 PM EST, on the weekend, or on a holiday, we’ll drop your Speks in the mail the next business day. Expedited orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends/holidays.
What’s your return policy?
For Speks purchased on our site, you can return ‘em within 30 days, no questions asked. If your Speks are from a retail store, you’re gonna have to check with the store about their specific policy.
